January 2019

In January 2019, we hosted Mr Yuji Shimabukuro from Dr Motoi Wada’s Plasma Physics Lab at Doshisha University Kyoto, Japan. Using the Buckley Systems / D-Pace ion source test facility (ISTF) and assisted by PhD student, Anand George, he conducted experiments on inductive and capacitive coupling of an RF source to plasma for better power transfer efficiency.

This visit was the start of a reciprocal agreement with Doshisha University who will host Mr George later in the year. The ISTF is an ion source that is available for hire for research projects or product validation. It can also be purchased as a customised, turn-key system.
