OCtober 2019
NIBS2020 website www.nibs2020.org is now live.
Hosted by the University of Auckland, The 7th International Symposium on Negative Ions, Beams and Sources will be the first time such a prestigious particle related conference has been held in New Zealand.
Although New Zealand does not have a large particle accelerator, one of the scheduled events will be a tour of Buckley Systems’ manufacturing facility, which produces high tech equipment for the particle accelerator industry, such as magnets, RF cavities, and ultra-high vacuum chambers. Also on display at Buckley Systems will be the D-Pace/Buckley Systems Ion Source Test Facility which is a valuable research tool and test-bed for developing new products.
NIBS has been held bi-annually since 2008 and welcomes contributions on any aspect of the production and use of negative ions. The symposium scientific programme will comprise of:
• Fundamental processes and modelling
• H– and D– sources for fusion and accelerators
• Negative ion sources for industrial and medical applications
• Beam formation and low energy transport
• Beam acceleration and neutralization
• Beam lines and facilities
• Applications
The event will be held from August 30 – September 4, 2020. Registrations and abstract submissions do not open until January 2020 but the website contains all the information you need to plan your visit to New Zealand.
